It’s amazing how time flies when you’re having fun. It’s hard to believe that it was six months ago today that we started 1001-Up.com and we’re still having an amazing time.

As usual we’d like to start off this month’s catch-up article by saying a big thank you to everyone out there who has ever heard of, looked at, liked or followed our little site. We’re humbled by your support: we’ve now managed to hit 51 followers and views from 95 across the world, and every week the numbers go up just that little bit higher. We usually have a ‘wall of fame’ and name everyone who’s interacted with us over the month, but the list is just getting too long! Because of this we’ve now set up a dedicated Big-Up page – take a look and make sure we’ve mentioned you on there.
One of the highlights of July 2013 was the fact that we got to work with some amazing indie developers on previews of their upcoming titles. Frambosa are working on a brilliant co-op platform title called Sneaksneak, and Seaven Studio wowed us with their Ethan: Meteor Hunter puzzle-platformer. If you haven’t yet seen the gameplay videos take a look at the articles here and here respectively – these two are going to be ones to watch.

Another highlight was that 3dg3d3m0n became our first official contributor with his article Have Valve lost the plot? Although he’s adamant that he doesn’t appreciate the term ‘lovely contributor’ being associated with his name we think he secretly likes the attention. If you’re someone with a passion for gaming and writing who would like to write for us, head over to the Contributors page for information. We’ve already got a few more writers lined up over the coming month so watch this space.
As we announced last month, we’ve recently been having discussions around holding an event for charity in several months’ time. The team has done a lot of fundraising in the past and we’re all up for doing our bit for a good cause, and now we’d like to do something charitable with a gaming edge. More information will be published as soon as details are available but if you’d like to get involved, please don’t hesitate to give us a shout.

So please stick with us because there’s plenty more to look forward to: the team are going away for a break in the Peak District in September (we’re taking our laptops and plenty of games) and the Eurogamer expo is coming up too. We’re updating our Twitter, Facebook and YouTube accounts regularly so be sure to connect with us to stay up-to-date on all the goings-on.
Enjoy the summer – from Kimmy, P-Diddy and W1ngman at 1001-Up.com ☆
